This summer, the Travel Photography course is coming to New York City

Popular Travel Photography Course Offered Again at Pittsburg State University

Are you a student at Pittsburg State University looking to expand your photography skills while exploring a new city? If so, you’re in luck! The Graphic Communications program is offering the popular course GC 590 Special Topics: Travel Photography again this year, following the success of last year’s trip to Washington D.C.

Led by Professor Chauncey Rion Huffman, this course is open to all students, regardless of major or photography experience. The course aims to teach students various aspects of photography, including street/documentary photography, architectural photography, portraiture, lifestyle photography, and photographic storytelling. Not only will students learn how to create professional quality images, but they will also learn valuable travel etiquette skills to navigate a major metropolitan area effectively.

This year, students will have the exciting opportunity to travel to New York City in June. Professor Huffman believes that New York City offers a unique blend of photography opportunities, from street photography to architectural wonders. Students will have the chance to explore the city and capture images that tell a story about their experience.

To prepare for the trip, two warm-up sessions will be held in Pittsburg and Kansas City to help students get comfortable with their equipment and practice their photography skills. The cost of the trip ranges from $500-$650 per person, depending on attendance and travel pricing.

Enrollment for this exciting course will begin on April 7. For more information on the enrollment schedule and other details, visit pittstate.edu/registrar/enrollment-information.html. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Professor Huffman at 620-235-4848.

Don’t miss out on this incredible opportunity to enhance your photography skills while exploring the vibrant city of New York. Sign up for GC 590 Special Topics: Travel Photography and embark on a journey of creativity and discovery!
